Photographer's Open House
Attention local Photographers! If you’re looking for a new venue, please come check out Harvey Family Farm. We offer multiple environments on one beautiful property. Our 100+ year old tobacco barn and corn crib provide a rustic backdrop. Our hay field has a view of Buffalo Mountain in the background. We also have old trees and a sweet creek that provide that woodsy feel to any photo. And don’t forget about our You-Pick flower field! Our blooms are always changing and we even have a patch of lavender!
As an added benefit, we have a REAL bathroom on-site for your convenience.
Our Open House will be a FREE opportunity for you to explore the property and snap all the pics you like. You may bring one client or model with you. We just ask that you share some of the pics with us so we can continue to promote our beautiful Farm.
Please RSVP so we can provide a few snacks for you!

Soil blocking workshop
Are you frustrated with your current method of seed starting? Soil-blocking is an excellent way to start seeds indoors, with very little space and great germination rates!
As a flower farmer, I start literally hundreds of seeds at any given time. By soil blocking, I just need a small amount of space indoors before everything heads outside.
In this workshop, we will go through the steps to soil block planting, and you’ll have a chance to try it out for yourself. You’ll learn which soils work best, and how to make them work better. You’ll use a blocker to create your own little tray of blocks and then choose from a selection of spring flower seeds to plant in it. You can take this little tray of 40(!) flowers home and watch your handiwork bloom.
I’ll walk you through all the steps of when to keep things warm, when to water and feed, when to move into the light, and when (and how) to harden off your seedlings.
$45
